With the continually declining sales of the laptops and notebooks, most big hardware vendors are fast shifting their focus towards launching new Windows tablets. Lenovo also made its move and unveiled the Lenovo Miix tablet at Computex 2013.
Now, however, the company has officially released a 10.1-inch version of the tablet. The 8-inch variant may follow in the months to come, but on the whole the $500 device that should be on sale soon packs in modest hardware.
Lenovo’s new Miix 10 Windows 8 tablet has go on sale via the company’s website while revealing more information about the unit. The Lenovo Miix 10 will run an Intel Atom Processor, contain 2 GB of RAM, and keep all your data cozy on a 64GB SSD.
In addition to its internals, the unit sports a 10.1” HD LED Multitouch display with a resolution of 1366x768 (and yes, it is an IPS display). The unit features a light number of ports including a Micro USB 2.0 connector for charging, a Micro SD card reader, Micro-HDMI, and a headphone jack. That’s right folks no full sized USB port on this Windows tablet.
Regardless, the tablet is available for preorder on Lenovo's website in a variety of flavors, with prices starting at $649 for the 64 GB Wi-Fi model. Some of the 10.1-inch tablet's specs include the aforementioned dual-core, 1.8 GHz Intel Clover Trail Z2760 processor, USB 2.0 and HDMI ports, and compatibility with existing Office applications. Available peripherals include a stylus, a digitizer screen, and a keyboard stand.
