LG (066570) apparently isn’t sitting around and letting its flagship Optimus G smartphone line grow stale. AndroidGuys points us to a report from the Korean website MK stating that LG is already working on a sequel to the Optimus G that could be released as early as May 2013.
LG, which has recently introduced Optimus G with some stellar hardware, is now reported to have commenced development on its successor which is likely to be branded as Optimus G2.The purported LG Optimus G2 is expected to have 5-inch touchscreen display and it will support full 1080p HD resolution supporting IPS panel. This smartphone will pack up to 2 GHz clock speed bearing quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 mobile processor and it will also add support third-generation 4G Long Term Evolution.
The new smartphone, currently dubbed the Optimus G2, is rumored to feature some crazy specs: a 2GHz processor, a display with a pixel density of 440 pixels per inch, and the yet-to-be-announced Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. While such specs are certainly gaudy, they’re not out of the realm of possibility, especially since Google (GOOG) typically releases a new iteration of Android every nine months or so.
Lenovo has launched its flagship Android smartphone, LG Optimus LTE the K900 in the Indian market at a price point of Rs. 32,999.The Lenovo K900 was first showcased at CES earlier this year. The K900 packs in Intel's dual-core Clover Trail+ platform, specifically the Intel Atom Z2580 dual-core processor clocking in at 2GHz. The device features a full-HD(1080x1920 pixels) display, 2GB RAM and is expected to come with 16GB of internal storage. It has a 2500 mAh non-removable battery.
